Michael Johnson thinks former champion Rafael dos Anjos is a good matchup, and he’ll even go to Brazil to fight him.

Michael Johnson wants to get back into the cage, and he feels like there is one obvious opponent out there for him - former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos. Johnson is coming off a one-sided loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov, but Dos Anjos has lost two bouts in a row now. So he told Flo Combat that the matchup makes sense for both of them:

"I think it would be a great fight. He's a guy who likes to stand and trade and I'm the exact same way. We are both coming off tough losses to guys who we both would love to get back in there with. I think it's perfect timing for this fight. I said before all the stars had to align for me to face Khabib and I think the same thing is happening now with RDA as well.”

Johnson (17-11, 9-7 UFC) is currently sitting in the number seven contender’s spot at lightweight in the official UFC rankings. Dos Anjos (25-9. 14-7 UFC), who is coming off losses to Tony Ferguson and Eddie Alvarez, is currently ranked at number four.
