With back-to-back wins under his belt for the first time in over four years, Jose Aldo is once again a major topic of conversation at 145 pounds.

That was evident on Saturday when several of the UFC’s top stars took to social media to mention Aldo, who defeated featherweight contender Renato Moicano via second-round TKO in the co-main event of UFC Fortaleza. It was the 28th win of Aldo’s illustrious career and his second consecutive knockout victory after finishing Jeremy Stephens with strikes last summer.

The UFC’s debut on ESPN certainly delivered in terms of action, and it brought about some changes in the rankings. Henry Cejudo’s quick win over T.J. Dillashaw didn’t make him a champ champ, but it showed that he can take out the top dog from a division up in no time. That helped him move up the P4P list in a big way. In addition to that, wins by Donald Cerrone and Joanne Calderwood helped their standings.

Dana White believes that the Nevada Athletic Commission were a little heavy handed when it came to fining Khabib Nurmagomedov for his involvement in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl.

On Tuesday’s meeting of the NAC, a five-member committee voted in favor of a settlement agreement that will see Nurmagomedov receive a nine-month suspension and a $500,000 fine for his involvement in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl. The suspension can be reduced by up to three months pending Nurmagomedov’s participation in an anti-bullying public service announcement that must be approved by the NAC.

Kelvin Gastelum will be taking on the biggest fight of his career when he challenges Robert Whittaker for the UFC middleweight title at UFC 234. And the TUF 17 winner is liking his chances, so far.

“I’m predicting a first-round knockout,” Gastelum said during the UFC 234 media day in the Los Angeles area Tuesday (transcript via MMA Fighting). “I’ve put in so much work and I feel so confident in my abilities and confident in what I’ve done in the sport that I’m predicting a first-round knockout.”
