De La Salle University vented its ire on University of Santo Tomas, taking a 75-66 victory to return to the UAAP Season 84 men's basketball tournament win column, Tuesday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The Green Archers were hot off the bat, cruising to a 21-7 lead topped by Emman Galman's back-to-back triples in his DLSU debut.

They went on to finish the first half ahead by 15, countering every Growling Tigers attempt to trim the deficit, 42-27.

UST was able to slash the gap to just nine after Christian Manaytay's reverse with 2:58 left in the fourth quarter, 62-71, but it was too little, too late.

“I think it’s very important for us, this win,” said La Salle coach Derrick Pumaren. “It’s because after coming up with a loss against Ateneo, the thing that I told the boys (is) the important thing is how we bounce back. We gotta bounce back hard. We gotta take care of business today.”

Justine Baltazar had an all-around game of 20 points, seven rebounds, five assists, a steal, and a block for DLSU. Kurt Lojera got 15 points while Michael Phillips was an energy bunny anew with eight points and 13 rebounds.

Rookie Galman shone with 13 points founded on three treys, with 11 in the first half where his team chipped away.

The Archers improved to 4-1 for solo second while halting UST's two-game winning streak to fall to 2-3 at fifth.

Joshua Fontanilla and Nic Cabañero dropped 20 points apiece for the Tigers with the latter adding 10 rebounds.

DLSU will collide with University of the Philippines on Thursday at 10 am, while UST will follow at 1 pm against National University.
