THE Hon. Councilor JC Parker-Aguas Chess Tournament will get underway on December 7, 2019 at the JT's Manukan Grill (formerly the Yard) along Pandan Road in Angeles City, Pampanga.


National arbiters Edward Serrano and Jose Fernando "Fer" Camaya, said participants will compete in the rapid time control format.
The champion will receive P2,000 plus championship's trophy, the runner-up place will pocket P1,500 plus trophy while third placer will get P1,000 plus trophy.


Category winners will each receive P500 each for the top Executive, top Women, top College, top High School and top Elementary.

Woman Fide Master (WFM) Cherry Ann Mejia and Woman National Master (WNM) Francois Marie Magpily will see action in the prestigious first ever Woman Fide Master (WFM) Sheerie Joy Lomibao-Beltran Fide rating tournament rapid chess championship on December 14, 2019, Saturday at the second floor Open Kitchen Airconditioned food fall, Rockwell Business Center, Sheridan, Greenfields District, Mandaluyong City.

Mejia and Magpily, both aiming to win the championships trophy plus the top prize P10,000 and Michael Kors watches sponsored by Woman Fide Master (WFM) Sheerie Joy Lomibao-Beltran in close cooperation with China Aurelio and Mimi Casas of Open Kitchen, are up against the women's best woodpushers including Woman International Master (WIM) Catherine Perena-Secopito, Woman International Master (WIM) Bernadette Galas, Woman Fide Master (WFM) Samantha Glo Revita, Woman Fide Master (WFM) Allaney Jia Doroy, Woman National Master (WNM) Christy Lamiel Bernales,  Tara Jade Aurelio-Dableo, Susan Grace Neri and Mary Joy Palero-Segarra.


The other top players are Manilyn Cabungcag, Jocelyn Tuibuen Berago, Mary Grace Telebrico-Litao, Flowery Manguera-Capati, Arlyn Victorio,  Stella Theresa Aquino, Shaira Mae Aquino, Shanaia Marie Aquino, Yvy Shane  Bolaรฑos, Kristine Mae Bolaรฑos, Jermaine Ramayla, Louisse Viray Toralba and Ayesha Janelle Guanzon.


Meanwhile, National Christian Life College (NCLC) head coach Santi Valderama Papagayo will parade his 14 years old and below participants in the likes of Khloe Miles G. Javil, Kean Michael G. Javil, Rolaine, Alexia A. Ison, Kenneth Christian L. Nacor, Jan Michael T. Ellar Jr., Mohammad Hanif M. Dida-Agun, Audree Levi B. Calub, Jacob SM. Padayao, Jairus Kylle B. Siazon, Jordan Perry J. Nagua, Tyron Esquivel and Calvyn Shane C. Martinez.
The champion in the kiddies 14 years old and below category will take home P5,000 plus Samsung Galaxy Tablet, Digital chess clock plus trophy and medal.

CLOSE to P40,000 in total cash prizes will be up for grabs in the 1st Calauan Laguna Dalawahan Rapid Chess Tournament on December 30, 2019, Monday at the Kanluran Covered Court near Calauan Town Plaza in Calauan, Laguna.


Round 1 will start exactly at 10 am according to the organizing committee Mikhail Perez Laoagan and Sosonty Caumban in this year-ender tournament and will be supervised by Fide Arbiter Reden Cruz of the Chess Arbiter Union of the Philippines.


"Chess is a lifetime learning. Isulong mo ang tamang tira," said tournament manager Mikhail Laoagan who placed second to eventual champion Arena Grandmaster (AGM) Almario Marlon Quiroz Bernardino Jr. during the Black and White Chess Tournament 2019 (Open event) at the 3rd floor, Activity Area, Pacific Mall in Lucena City last Sunday.


The Dalawahan champion will receive P12,000 plus trophy while the second placer will have P8,000 plus trophy. Third up to 8th placers will receive P5,000, P3,000, P2,000, P1,500 and P1,000, respectively.


Category awards are top lady, top senior, top unrated, top Elementary, top High School, top College and top Calauan will get P1,000 each plus medal.
Registration fee is pegged at P1,200 while onsite registration is P1,500.
