Manila - Filipino lightweight Michael “Hammer Fist” Farenas is ready to battle it out with Mexican Guadalupe Rosales for the Canadian Professional Boxing Council (CPBC) Lightweight International Championship. The fight is part of Dekada Fight Night on April 7 at the Gray Eagle Resort & Casino in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Farenas (42-5-4 34 KOs), who trains at Freddie Roach’s Wild Card gym in Los Angeles with Marvin Somodio and Jesse Arevalo, is excited to fight for the CPBC title.

“I am rebuilding my career and know I have a great run left in me. I love boxing and want to create a lasting memory with boxing fans. I dedicate this fight to my kababayan back home in the Philippines,” said Farenas.

With no knockouts in his entire career of over 50 fights including including his meetings at the ring with Yuriorkis Gamboa and Jose Pedraza, Farenas is confident that he is capable of winning more big fights, starting with this match against Rosales (34-4 18 KOs).

“Farenas is a true warrior. He is capable of beating anyone on any given night,” said Dekada Promoter Michael Short. #
