San Miguel notches third straight win at expense of Batang Pier

San Miguel Beermen held off a gallant stand by the NorthPort Batang Pier for a 114-107 win in the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup, Wednesday night at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay.

Collecting their fifth victory in nine matches, the Beermen thus maintained the sixth spot in the standings, while they sent the Batang Pier reeling to a 2-8 record.

Kevin Murphy led all scorers with 27 points, while Christian Standhardiger piled up another dominant showing with 21 points and 22 rebounds for San Miguel.

Alex Cabagnot tallied 17 markers, five boards, and five dimes, Marcio Lassiter chipped in 16 points, six rebounds, and five assists, while Chris Ross added 14 points in the win.

Sean Anthony finished with a team-high 24 points on top of five rebounds, and four assists for NorthPort, as import Rashad Woods was held to just 14 markers.
