History has been made again.

The PBA's prestigious Perpetual Trophy found a new home.The San Miguel Beer won the Philippine Cup, defeating the Brgy. Ginebra  91-85 Game in Sunday's Game 5 at the Araneta Coliseum. The Beermen wrapped up the series, 4-1, and become the second team in history to capture three straight All-Filipino titles. TNT owns the original 2006 version after winning the Philippine Cup from 2011-2013.

Despite controlling the majority of the contest, the Beermen had to endure a late Ginebra rally to pull this championship off.

June Mar Fajardo first scored a crucial putback following an Alex Cabagnot miss before Chris Ross connected on a wild layup to put the Beermen ahead, 89-83, with 47 seconds left. An emphatic jam by Arwind Santos sealed San Miguel's three-peat.

Chot Reyes won the first two of TNT's three-peat in 2011 and 2012 before Norman Black completed the job in 2013.

Despite four starters playing above 40 minutes, San Miguel's core delivered anew with June Mar Fajardo and Arwind Santos scoring 21 points apiece to lead the Beermen.

Back-to-back Philippine Cup Finals MVP Chris Ross finished with an all-around effort of 12 points, eight rebounds, 10 assists, and six steals.
