Chris Banchero was in his element, hitting shots from everywhere on the court, hushing the crowd and flashing those sly smiles as the Meralco Bolts delivered a killer Game 7 performance over Barangay Ginebra 78-69 at FPJ Arena San Jose, Batangas.
“just feeling like we were going to play one of our best games tonight, Said Banchero.
Banchero had a 24-point, Chris Newsome added 20 and Bong Quinto had his significant contribution with 10 points, four assists and three rebounds.
No other Meralco players scored in double figures but the Bolts were together in putting up a solid defensive job holding the Kings to 32-percent field clip and to their lowest output in a game in the post-elims plays.
Meralco Bolts getting their first trip to the 48TH BA Philippine Cup Finals against SMB on June 5 at The BigDome.
