JUSTIN Brownlee just added another feather to his growing legend in the PBA. The resident import of Barangay Ginebra now ranks no. 6 in the all-time scoring list among imports following his 47-point explosion in the Kings' closeout win of their Governors Cup semis series against the NLEX Road Warriors.

Brownlee was 6-of-10 from the three-point field and had 18 of his total output in the second quarter alone, and then added 11 in the third when the Kings finally took control of Game 4 for good.

The 33-year-old native of Tifton, Georgia, now has a PBA career scoring total of 4,366 points.

Brownlee moved past burly former Tanduay import Francois Wise (4,332) who previously occupied the sixth spot.

The Barangay Ginebra reinforcement made it to the Top 10 all-time PBA scoring leader for imports this season alone, initially moving past Byron 'Snake' Jones (4,018) and Billy Ray Robinson (4,024) when he scored 40 in the Kings' 110-102 loss to San Miguel in the eliminations.

Both Jones and Robinson are pioneer imports in the league.

His rise in the leaderboard continued as he overtook Donnie Ray Koonce (4,103) and scoring machine Larry McNeil (4,169), before jumping past Wise on Wednesday night when the defending champion Kings wrapped up the best-of-five series, 3-1.

Up next for Brownlee is the no. 5 spot currently occupied by the legendary Billy Ray Bates, who amassed 4,523 points playing for the fabled Crispa and Barangay Ginebra teams, respectively.

Former two-time Best Import Norman Black, now head coach of Meralco, remains entrenched on top of the list with 11,329 followed by the late seven-time Best Import winner Bobby Parks Sr. with 8,955.

Sean Chambers, the resident import of the Alaska dynasty, is at third place with 8,225, while at fourth spot is another scoring demon in Lou Massey with 5,386 points.

Brownlee is gunning for his fifth championship in the league and has guided Ginebra to the Governors' Cup finals for the fourth time in the last five seasons.

No wonder coach Tim Cone is always gratified having Brownlee around.

"Life is a lot easier when you have Justine Brownlee around," said the Ginebra coach.

"Take advantage when you can. Come see him. He is not going to be here forever, but you'll be able to tell your family, friends, cousins, everybody that you watched Justin Brownlee play. And that's going to be a special thing." (RG) (PBA)
