CHRIS Newsome readily admits it feels great knowing that Meralco has taken the lead over Magnolia in their PBA Governors' Cup semifinal series The Bolts hold a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series and can advance to the PBA Finals with another win in Game 4 on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

But don't tell that to Newsome. The Meralco guard knows too well anything could still happen until the series is not over.

So, he cautions his teammates from celebrating prematurely and to stay focused.

"Job's not finished," offered Newsome.

"This series not about winning one game. You need three to move on to the next level."

Meralco lost the series opener after blowing a 17-point advantage but displayed stellar performance in the next two games to move on threshold of advancing to the best-of-seven title series.

"It's always tough being down in a series. A series is a roller-coaster, man. You have to handle your emotions, the highs and lows. And I thank God, that's what we showed today (Game 3)," Newsome said.

The 6-1 guard with hair dreads has no doubt that top-seeded Hotshots are capable of turning the series around.

But the Bolts are just as determined to finish the series.

"Right now, we gotta stay humble," Newsome said. "We gotta stay hungry and most importantly, stay focused and disciplined with our game plan," he said. (JB) (PBA)
