Two-time defending champions Brgy. Ginebra made quick work of no. 8 NLEX Tuesday, taking a 111-75 win in the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup quarterfinals.

The top-seeded Gin Kings advance and will meet rival Magnolia in the next round.

Fil-German rookie Christian Standhardinger delivered imports’ numbers all tournament long, and emerged the runaway leader in the stats race for the Best Player of the Conference in the PBA Governors Cup.

Standhardinger led all local players in scoring and rebounding and was the lone player to put in double-double averages for a whopping average of 43.1 statistical points per outing.

Magnolia Hotshots fended off a huge uprising by the Blackwater Elite, holding on for a 103-99 victory in the quarterfinals of the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup, Tuesday night at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

The Hotshots squandered a double-digit lead early but came through with a searing rally down the stretch to prevail over the Blackwater, making good use of their twice-to-beat advantage as they barreled into the next round.

THE Phoenix Fuel Masters rose to the challenge in their final game of the elimination round of the Philippine Basketball Association Governors’ Cup and were rewarded accordingly with a huge incentive heading into the playoff round.

Beating the Blackwater Elite, 97-91, in their key match at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, the Fuel Masters edged their foes to book a top-four spot in the season-ending PBA tournament and earn a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals.

Meralco Bolts kept its quarterfinals hopes alive as it mauled the San Miguel Beer, 111-81, in the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum Saturday night.

As a result, the Bolts improved to 5-6 at the end of elimination round, assuring themselves of at least a playoff for eighth spot.
