He's just the second Milwaukee Bucks player to win the award in franchise history. The other was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who did it three times with the Bucks before winning three more with the Los Angeles Lakers. Also, according to ESPN's Stats and Info, Antetokounmpo is the lowest-drafted MVP in the lottery era along with Steve Nash.

It was a seemingly close race heading down the stretch of the season as Harden played out of his mind on the offensive end of the court. He was nearly unstoppable for months on end and deserves a lot of credit for having a historic scoring season.

In May, he was unanimously voted as a member of the 2018-19 All NBA First-Team after earning Second-Team honors in each of the past two seasons. That award triggered his eligibility for a Super Max contract extension. He's eligible to sign the extension next summer, but it wouldn't go into effect until his contract expires in 2021.

The deal would be worth $247.3 million over five years and would be the largest contract extension in NBA history according to Bobby Marks. He would begin by earning $42.6 million in 2021-22 and max out at $56.3 million in the final year of the deal. It's not a cheap contract by any means, but he's certainly earned every penny of it.
