Warriors vs. Nuggets: Who will take the top seed?

The Golden State Warriors host the Denver Nuggets at 7:30 p.m. PT on ESPN. And it’s a pretty exciting game.

Golden State is currently atop the Western Conference, but Denver is only one game behind. The teams split their first two games, which means whoever wins tonight will have possession of the top seed.

That’s a lot on the line, especially this late in the season, though neither team seems particularly concerned about it.

For the Warriors, they’re getting some much-needed reinforcements, as Klay Thompson, Kevon Looney, and Shaun Livingston are all expected to suit up.

But they’ll need to do more than just get players back - they’ll need to play better. On Tuesday they were shellacked by the Boston Celtics, at home, by 27 points. It was Golden State’s third loss in four games. With only 18 games remaining until the playoffs start, the Warriors know it’s time to start kicking things into gear.

After a loss like that, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Warriors have a huge performance tonight. But the Nuggets will certainly have something to say about that.
