Gasol officially signed with the Spurs on Thursday.

The terms of Gasol's contract have not been made public, but it was expected to be worth over 30 million dollars. Gasol averaged 16.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks in 32 minutes per game. He will likely be the starting center for the Spurs next season now that Boris Diaw and Tim Duncan are no longer on the team. With questions surrounding Tim Duncan and the possibility that he retires, the Spurs elected to pick up Gasol, who is a more than capable replacement.

Gregg Popovich likes to rest his veterans at points throughout the season, which could be a bit frustrating for fantasy owners. Either way, the Spurs will also need to make another roster move to get the numbers to work on Gasol's deal, with Boris Diaw currently the most likely candidate to be shipped out on a trade. The second year of Gasol's deal has a player option as well.
