Marc Gasol poured in 36 and Toney Douglas played hero late as the Grizzlies won another dramatic thriller.

Lineup Notes

Memphis continues to play with just 10 warm bodies, with Carter, Conley, Ennis, Parsons, and Wright all still inactive.

Game Story

After a rough 1-8 start, Portland soon found a rhythm led by C.J. McCollum’s 15 points on 5 shots. As the Grizzlies headed into the locker room down 7 at half, Fizdale stayed on the court just long enough to get T’d up for, you know, suggesting things to the officials.

Some high-effort defense by Troy Williams sparked the Grizzlies in the second half and Memphis pulled within three near the end of the third quarter after holding Portland scoreless for more than five minutes. Portland rebuilt a nine-point lead with 10 minutes remaining, a lead they held until Marc Gasol and Troy Daniels hit back to back triples to give Memphis an 82-81 lead with 90 seconds left.

Toney Douglas then decided to take over, hitting a midrange J to give the Grizzlies another lead at 86-85, then drawing a foul on Plumlee with 0.5 seconds left and sinking both free throws to seal the game.

Marc Gasol finished with 36 points (4-6 from three), JaMychal Green had 18(!) rebounds, and Douglas added 11 off the bench.
