A fun night in Dallas ends with a statement victory for the young core now in place.

The Dallas Mavericks hosted the Miami Heat Monday night, and after stumbling out of the gate, the home team rebounded to take control of things for most of the second and third quarters. When the Heat surged in front late, the youthful Mavs had the answer once more, storming ahead in the final two minutes to claim the “W”.

Indiana fell behind 18-2, but stormed back, topping Houston on the road. Jeff Teague scored 25 points.

The Indiana Pacers completed their season sweep of the Houston Rockets in impressive fashion, completing a 26-point turnaround with a total team effort. The Pacers fell behind 18-2 in a perplexing six minutes of unwatchable basketball, but responded well with the bench, drawing the game to within four. Houston appeared to regain control at the end of the first, closing on a 7-0 run and pushing ahead by 17 early in the second.

The worst thing about this game was constantly asking myself how the hell can we ever lose to Philly?

Like, how can anyone ever lose to Philly?

They're so damn terrible at basketball. Jahlil Okafor is not good, Nik Stauskas is, overall, not very useful and T.J. McConnell might be the worst player in the NBA. That’s not hyperbole — just watch him play, he’s embarrassingly bad.

With Kevin Durant out, the Splash Brothers reigned supreme and helped lead the Warriors to their 5th consecutive playoff appearance.

In a more competitive game than I think anyone was expecting, the Golden State Warriors ultimately slammed the door on the Brooklyn Nets, winning 112-95.

This ensured that they will see the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season, becoming the fastest team in NBA history to do so.

KEVIN Martin went under the tutelage of some of the game’s best tacticians.

In truth, just before he retired a season ago, he was coached by one of the greatest minds in professional basketball, Gregg Popovich of the San Antonio Spurs.

But even after 12 years playing for the best coaches and alongside some of the best players in the NBA, the former Western Carolina standout still owes a debt of gratitude to the core of the “greatest show on court” and  the main man at it’s helm.
