The Lakers may have signed LeBron James, but that didn't immediately guarantee a title for Los Angeles. They still need to get past the rest of the West and that means going through the Warriors. The entire NBA has been spending the last couple of seasons trying to figure out a formula to take Golden State down.

The King is taking his talents out West this time.

LeBron James will not return to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Instead, The King is taking his talents out to the West Coast to join the Los Angeles Lakers this summer. James signed a four-year, $154 million max contract, according to a release from Klutch Sports Group. He officially signed his contract on Monday.

With the Nuggets, Thomas must overcome an entirely different set of challenges than ever before. But don’t count him out.

Zach LaVine could have been one of those NBA restricted free agents who hangs around on the market until August or even later, unable to find a team willing to risk winning a bid for him with an offer sheet and unable to convince his team from buckling and pay big dollars. Restricted free agency is a huge benefit to teams with young players coming off their rookie deals, and LaVine looked to be the latest victim of the rule. His pain would be the Chicago Bulls’ gain as, in the long run, they’d be able to keep LaVine on a more reasonable deal.

It’s exactly what he’s supposed to do.

Former All-Star point guard Isaiah Thomas is a free agent no more. After spending more than 10 days on the market, watching his counterparts get scooped up by teams left and right, Thomas signed a one-year deal at the veteran’s minimum with the Denver Nuggets, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Booker could be an All-Star sooner than later, meaning Phoenix retains a star it can build around for the future.

Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns have agreed to terms on a five-year max contract extension worth $158 million, according to Yahoo!’s Shams Charania. The deal keeps one of the NBA’s brightest young stars on a Suns team attempting to claw its way from the bottom of the Western Conference.
