Filipina Yang Bautista was invited by Vancouver Fashion Week (VFW) to show her creations in a sold out event in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The 28-year-old will be featured side-by-side with designers from Europe, North America and Asia like Gatsby London, Lidija of Toronto, 44511234 from China, Lara Ireland, and Nuska and Canela Hostal.

Bautista, who hails from Bataan, is one of the Top 10 Philippine Designers for 2015. Her celebrity clients include Maja Salvador and Julia Barretto as her target market are young people aged 18 to 30. Her pride is her line of exquisite bridal gowns and formal wear made from locally-sourced materials like crepe and neoprene.

Bautista used to work for a government institution in the Philippines where her boss wanted her to take up law. She enrolled in a prestigious law school in the country but after three weeks, she realized law is not her cup of tea. She quit law school, refunded her tuition, and enrolled in the Fashion Institute of the Philippines and Slims.
