The UFC Lincoln prelims just closed out with James Krause knocking out Warlley Alves in the second round. This makes three straight wins for Krause, five straight if you omit his exhibition bout with Jesse Taylor on TUF 25. Iuri Alcantara vs. Cory Sandhagen was quite the wild ride! The veteran in Alcantara came out hot, blasting his foe with strikes and locking up an early and super-tight armbar, but Sandhagen hung tough, escaped, and then unleashed a lengthy barrage of ground strikes to earn the second round TKO.

Stergos “The Greek Dynamite” Mikkios is no stranger to adversity as long before he first laced a pair of Muay Thai gloves however, Mikkios was already battling the odds. 

At the age of six, Mikkios was sent to an orphanage in Greece after his parents split up.

At 11 years old, he was forced to move back to his birthplace of the United States and live with his grandparents after the orphanage he was living in closed down.

Top contender Tony Ferguson will return at UFC 229 against a former champ.

The road back to a belt for Tony Ferguson will start with a former WEC and UFC lightweight champion. Ferguson will face off with Anthony Pettis at UFC 229 on October 6th in Las Vegas. The news was confirmed by MMA Junkie as it has not been officially announced by the UFC as of yet.

UFC president Dana White compared Conor McGregor to two of the biggest boxers in history.

Now that Conor McGregor is clear of legal trouble and booked to fight in the UFC again, Dana White is back to promoting him as the greatest thing since sliced bread. McGregor will take on Khabib Nurmagomedov for the lightweight title at UFC 229 and to promote the fight, White guested on a Fox News feature to talk up his cash cow.

Evan Dunham’s next fight in the UFC will apparently be the last of his MMA career.

After 11 years in MMA, with nine of them spent under the UFC banner, Evan Dunham intends to hang up the gloves by the end of next month.

The veteran lightweight announced on his Instagram page that his UFC Sao Paulo matchup vs. Francisco Trinaldo will be the last of his MMA career, although he intends to continue competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitions.

For Chael Sonnen, Jon Jones is seemingly confident that he would be cleared in time to fight at UFC 230, the company’s NYC card this November.

Even while on indefinite suspension, Jon Jones and his team have managed to keep themselves relevant enough. Manager Malki Kawa went on record in February expressing optimism about “Bones” returning before 2018 ends, while striking coach Brandon Gibson is excited about the former 205-pound champion’s newly-developed one-punch knockout power.
