UFC president Dana White hasn’t talked money with Floyd Mayweather yet, but he’s going to ask for a 50-50 purse split for a boxing match between Mayweather and Conor McGregor.
After Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White decided to pull the plug on the much-criticized Middleweight title fight between division king Michael Bisping and former Welterweight champion, Georges St-Pierre, he proclaimed that “Rush” would instead return to try and reclaim his 170-pound belt.
However, that’s not necessarily the case, according to St-Pierre, who says his goal is to still fight “The Count” because he would have much more to gain fighting — and beating -- him than defeating current 170-pound roost ruler, Tyron Woodley.
After months and months of waiting for his shot at the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight title — largely due to this — Yoel Romero will finally get his opportunity. The only problem is, it won’t be against Michael Bisping, and it won’t be for the real strap.
That’s because “Solider of God” is booked to tango against Robert Whittaker for the interim title, which is set to co-headline UFC 213 on July 9, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada, since the current champion still hasn’t healed from recent knee surgery.
Stockholm gets rowdy with a fine night of European action.
For a card that a lot of fans (and media) didn’t have very high expectations for, this was actually a fine Fight Night card with some very good performances. It was also helped by the fact that it was a Sunday daytime card for US viewers, which takes the sting out of watching a longer broadcast.
The next UFC event is set for June 3rd at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Featherweight champion Jose Aldo fights interim champ Max Holloway in a title unification bout. The co-main event sees recent strawweight title challengers Claudia Gadelha and Karolina Kowalkiewicz go toe-to-toe. Also on the main card is Vitor Belfort’s UFC farewell bout will be against Nate Marquardt, while Paulo Borrachinha fights Oluwale Bamgbose, and “welterweight prospect” (you know this will be said) Erick Silva opens the PPV broadcast against Yancy Medeiros.

I READ somewhere that the DPWH is allocating mega billions for infrastructure projects designed to ease the traffic problem besetting much of urban Philippines. I can imagine how a big chunk of that moolah will be devoted to infra projects within Metro Manila - more street widenings, more flyovers, maybe more pedestrian overpasses and underpasses as well as flood control.Read more ...
