UFC 236: Holloway vs. Poirier 2 fight card shaping up

The UFC’s next pay-per-view is exactly one month from today, and it features a pair of (interim) championship fights. In the main event, reigning men’s featherweight champion Max Holloway goes up to lightweight to take on Dustin Poirier for the interim strap, seven years removed from when Poirier tapped a debuting Holloway at UFC 143. As for the co-main, Kelvin Gastelum and Israel Adesanya vie for interim middleweight gold, with the winner expected to fight actual champion Robert Whittaker.

As of now, the next biggest bouts in terms of divisional relevance are light heavyweights Ovince Saint Preux and Nikita Krylov in a rematch of that time when OSP won by Von Flue choke against Krylov back in 2014, and then there’s Wilson Reis vs. Alexandre Pantoja in an acknowledgement that men’s flyweight hasn’t died yet.

Here is what’s on tap for UFC 236 in Atlanta, Georgia on April 13. Note that no bout order has been finalized outside of the top two fights.
