Tony Ferguson is not happy about the possibility of a trilogy bout between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz.

Although Tony Ferguson takes on budding prospect Kevin Lee for the interim lightweight title at UFC 216 in the hopes of fighting official champ Conor McGregor in a title unification bout, it’s possible that ‘El Cucuy’ gets bypassed by Nate Diaz.

In the aftermath of Conor McGregor’s boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr., which saw ‘The Notorious’ succumb to a barrage of punches in the 10th round, there’s been talk of a trilogy bout with Diaz.

Diaz, who became the first man to beat McGregor under the UFC banner, submitting the Irishman at UFC 196, hasn’t fought since he lost in the epic rematch last year.

The Stockton fan favorite ripped McGregor for losing to Mayweather and many anticipate that a third bout between the two rivals would shatter the UFC pay-per-view record.

But Ferguson, 33, was quick to remind fans that rankings are implemented for a reason and went off on Diaz and McGregor in a recent interview with Submission Radio (see video above).

The top-ranked lightweight contender is on a 10-fight win streak and called both fighters ‘bitches’, claiming that he would ‘Stockton slap’ Diaz all over the Octagon.

“F—k that Nate Diaz three shit,” Ferguson said, per MMA Fighting’s Jed Meshew. “Both those bitches f—kin - they want to try and act like they want to go and make money. Nate don’t want to fight. He’s trying to recover from a f—king hit that he took with his management and all that other things. McGregor’s gotta defend or vacate. He’s gotta defend that belt, he needs to come back. If not, there goes his legacy, there goes the UFC s—t. I mean, really, legitimately, why do we have rankings? Why do we have a belt system? Why do we have all this other stuff?

“Nate, I will f—king Stockton slap the s—t out of you kid. You don’t f—king know me, dude. Straight up. Same thing with Conor McGregor. You guys are a bunch of bitches and you guys are a bunch of fakes. If you wanna fight while we’re here in the UFC, why don’t you come and sign on the dotted line after you get your s—t together and defend your f—king belt, Conor.”

McGregor, 29, became the promotion’s first simultaneous two-division champ at UFC 205, beating Eddie Alvarez to win lightweight gold. McGregor was stripped of the featherweight title due to inactivity and the SBG Ireland product began preparing for Mayweather in the aftermath of the Alvarez fight. His longtime coach and mentor, John Kavanagh, doesn’t think he will return to the Octagon in 2017.

Whether McGregor returns to defend his title or not, Ferguson believes he will be the true champ if he beats ‘The Motown Phenom’ at UFC 216.

“If it’s real enough, if I can see it, if I can feel it and I can hold it, that bitch is real enough for me. So this is my belt, this is what it’s about and everyone knows what it takes to get to where it’s at, I didn’t just talk my way to get there. So once I see that bitch around my waist it’s gonna be awesome, it’s just gonna be the next step towards greatness.”

The UFC 216 pay-per-view is scheduled to take place on October 7 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
