UFC fighter rankings: Demetrious Johnson returns to top of the pound-for-pound list

The latest UFC rankings update has Demetrious Johnson once again as the #1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world.

The new UFC rankings are out, and as you may imagine, there aren’t many changes after the recent Fight Night card in Rotterdam. This tends to happen when you have a card lacking ranked fighters. Of note, Jon Jones’ drug test failure hasn’t actually seen him removed from the rankings yet (presumably because B-sample results haven’t returned), but he has dropped from #1 to #3 on the pound-for-pound list. Demetrious Johnson re-assumes top spot, while Conor McGregor takes 2nd.

The full UFC rankings can be found here.

Pound-for-Pound: In addition to what I mentioned re Johnson/McGregor/Jones, Robert Whittaker moves up to 14th, while Amanda Nunes falls to 15th.

    Women’s Strawweight: No changes

Women’s Bantamweight: Ashlee Evans-Smith replaces Leslie Smith at #15. By the way, Evans-Smith is fighting this week. How convenient.

Flyweight: Wilson Reis drops to 5th ahead of his UFC 215 bout vs. Henry Cejudo. Sergio Pettis now has 4th spot all to himself.

    Men’s Bantamweight: No changes

    Featherweight: No changes

Lightweight: For some reason, Gilbert Melendez moved up to 14th and Evan Dunham is down to 15th. Melendez’s next fight is at featherweight.

    Welterweight: No changes

    Middleweight: No changes

    Light Heavyweight: No changes

Heavyweight: Alexander Volkov remains in 7th after his win over Stefan Struve, who drops down from 8th to 10th. Curtis Blaydes goes up another spot to 13th, as Travis Browne dips to 14th.
