Conor McGregor doesn’t believe Floyd Mayweather will make it past the second round on Aug. 26.

It hasn’t been decided yet, but the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) is currently reviewing Floyd Mayweather’s request to change the 10-ounce glove size to eight-ounces on the night of his boxing showdown against Conor McGregor on Aug. 26.

Mayweather, who will be looking to extend his 49-0 career record to a perfect 50-0, originally demanded McGregor wear 10-ounce gloves, but ‘The Best Ever’ says he has no problem fighting ‘The Notorious’ in a smaller glove size, closer to the size McGregor is accustomed to in the UFC.

McGregor, the current UFC lightweight champion, wears four-ounce gloves in MMA and says he would finish Mayweather inside two rounds if NSAC decide to change the rules.

“I’ve got so many first-round finishes,” McGregor said during Friday’s media workout. “With eight-ounces, I’m struggling to give him two rounds, and that’s the God’s honest truth. The only reason I maybe give him two rounds is, because, in this game the referee stops me from pounding his head into the canvas, and he has ten seconds to recover. That’s the only reason he might get to the second round.”

McGregor, who became the UFC’s first ever simultaneous two-division champion last year, capturing the featherweight and lightweight world titles, says he saw ‘fatigue’ in Mayweather’s media workout on Thursday.

“Where was the energy? Where was the tempo?” McGregor said of Mayweather’s bag workout. “He was talking over fatigue. He was trying to talk his way over fatigue: ‘Hey, switch that song. Do this, do that.’ I see a beaten man in his eyes and his body language and in everything he does.”

The 12-round boxing mega-fight takes place on August 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
