Alex Oliveira plans to avoid Ryan LaFlare’s takedowns by ‘moving’ and ‘hitting him hard in the face'

Alex Oliveira has a gameplan for when he takes on Ryan LaFlare at UFC on Fox 25

Alex Oliveira is not too worried about Ryan LaFlare’s wrestling prowess when they in New York. As “Cowboy” explained to Combate, he has a gameplan to nullify LaFlare’s game, which consists on a lot of footwork and also hitting him in the face as hard and often as possible.

“I’ll avoid it by hitting him in the face. Firmly and hard. I worked a lot on movement. Sticking and moving and landing my counters. It’s going to be too easy. He won’t find me. I’ll touch him and not be touched.”

Even though LaFlare hails from Lindenhurst, New York, Oliveira doesn’t believe he’ll have a home advantage at all.

“It’s no advantage, in my opinion. When you’re a real fighter, there’s no such thing. I’m the one fighting him. It’s just me and him. I know he’ll be in his turf, but I’m chill about it. I don’t see it as an advantage. All eyes will be on him. I’ll show everyone how good I am. I’ll come out on top.”

Alex Oliveira is expected to take on Ryan LaFlare at UFC on Fox 25, in Uniondale, New York, on July 22. The card will be headlined by a middleweight clash between former champion Chris Weidman and Kelvin Gastelum.
