Anthony Johnson hits back at Daniel Cormier’s recent remarks about him.
Just as Anthony Johnson teased about an MMA comeback, his former opponent Daniel Cormier went on a rant about some ill feelings. The current UFC light heavyweight champion specifically had some problems with “Rumble” and his then opponent Jon Jones sharing some “moments” during the UFC 214 weigh-ins.
“[Later], I guess Jon’s putting on his shoes or something, and then Rumble walks up to him again but now they’re hugging,” Cormier recalled. “Legitimately hugging! Rumble’s leaning over while Jon’s tying his shoes, and Rumble’s leaning over and giving him advice.”
Because of these actions, Cormier says he is now severing whatever ties he had with Johnson.
“The reality is, that shit pissed me off. I’m not gonna be f---ing friends with him anymore, I’m not gonna be f---ing respectful with him anymore because who needs to be that f---ing nice. Anybody that’s that nice has an ulterior motive, that’s my thought. F--k that.”
Cormier’s statements eventually got to Johnson, in which he also offered quite an antagonistic response via a Facebook post.

Saying I gave Jon advice lol buddy what advice is there to give him? I wasn't fighting either one of you, so there's no point of giving advice. That's not my style! I believe in fair fights period.
Friend's? We were NEVER friend's! I've respected every man in the sport no matter what. I've shown JBJ respect through his tough times and have shown you respect the same way.
I retired cuz I have other thing's in life I want to do but just cuz I met with UFC and talked you have an issue.
