The UFC is looking to have Anderson Silva headline a big show in China later this year.

It didn’t happen in Brazil, but it could happen in China. A bout between middleweight legend Anderson Silva and rising star Kelvin Gastelum had been scheduled for UFC 212 after Gastelum defeated Vitor Belfort. Unfortunately for Gastelum, a positive marijuana test led to a suspension, ending the idea of it happening there.

Now, the UFC is interested in re-booking the fight after Gastelum fell to Chris Weidman earlier this month.

According to FloCombat, Silva vs. Gastelum will headline the first UFC event in Shanghai, which is scheduled to go down on November 25th.

Silva (34-8, 1 NC, 21-4, 1 NC UFC) ended a long winless streak with a controversial decision win over Derek Brunson at UFC 208 in February. He has been increasingly testy with the UFC of late, not liking how the promotion has handled the title situation.

Gastelum (13-3, 1 NC, 8-3, 1 NC UFC) is coming off the aforementioned third-round submission loss to Weidman at a UFC on Fox event. He had reaffirmed his decision to drop back to welterweight after coming up short in Long Island, but that doesn’t appear to be the case after all.
