UFC women’s bantamweight champ Nunes calls out the winner of Holm vs. de Randamie for a shot at the featherweight title.

Will 2017 see a rise in multi-division champions? It’s looking that way.

Conor McGregor’s historic achievement at UFC 205, which saw him capture the lightweight title to become the promotion’s first two-division champ, has spurred several fighters to accomplish the same feat.

Jose Aldo, who was recently promoted to featherweight champion after the UFC decided to strip ‘The Notorious’ of the belt, stated his desire to rematch McGregor for the 155 lbs strap.

Newly-crowned bantamweight kingpin Cody Garbrandt also wasted no time in calling for a championship featherweight superfight against ‘Scarface’.

Amanda Nunes, though, who ran through WMMA pioneer Ronda Rousey at UFC 207 to retain the 135-pound title, wants to make history by becoming the UFC’s first ever women’s two-division champ.

The UFC announced the addition of a women’s featherweight division last year, and Holly Holm and Germaine de Randamie are expected to collide for the inaugural championship at UFC 208 on Feb. 11.

Nunes, a winner of five straight, called out the winner on Twitter earlier today.

Aside from McGregor, the only other fighters in the UFC to win belts in two separate weight classes are Randy Couture and B.J. Penn. ‘The Natural’ captured light heavyweight and heavyweight gold while ‘The Prodigy’, who makes his return later tonight against Yair Rodriguez at UFC Phoenix, is a former lightweight and welterweight champion.

Nunes is one of the heaviest hitting female fighters on the roster and has a real chance of becoming a bantamweight and featherweight world champ.
