UFC superstar Ronda Rousey has just been announced as a team captain for ABC’s reboot of Battle of the Network Stars.

We might not be treated to a return to Octagon action from WMMA superstar Ronda Rousey, but that doesn’t mean she’s disappeared from the public eye altogether. MMA Fighting reports that just weeks after her guest TV spot on NBC’s Blindspot, Rousey has been announced as a team captain on ABC’s revival of Battle of the Network Stars. Rousey’s opposing team will be captained by the recently retired Denver Bronco, DeMarcus Ware.

UFC president Dana White gives an in-depth take on the altercation between Cris Cyborg and Angela Magana.

Much has been made of the interaction between Cris Cyborg and Angela Magana at the Athletes Retreat a couple of weeks ago. Magana had been taunting Cyborg on social media and Cyborg confronted her about it, eventually punching her in the face. Cyborg was cited for misdemeanor battery, and while Magana made a huge deal of it, she was out partying with the rest of the fighters that very night.

UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt has been removed from the UFC 213 card, and is out indefinitely due to a back injury. His challenger T.J. Dillashaw, in turn, wasted no time in getting himself a new opponent, calling out flyweight champion and top pound-for-pound fighter Demetrious Johnson.

Mighty Mouse seems uninterested in facing Dillashaw, but if the fight does happen, Garbrandt wants in on the action. On Monday’s episode of The MMA Hour, he laid down his own stipulation for his former Team Alpha Male comrade.

After Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White decided to pull the plug on the much-criticized Middleweight title fight between division king Michael Bisping and former Welterweight champion, Georges St-Pierre, he proclaimed that “Rush” would instead return to try and reclaim his 170-pound belt.

However, that’s not necessarily the case, according to St-Pierre, who says his goal is to still fight “The Count” because he would have much more to gain fighting — and beating -- him than defeating current 170-pound roost ruler, Tyron Woodley.
