John Wayne Parr is ready for his last dance inside the Circle. Parr has agreed to compete against former ONE Lightweight World Champion Eduard Folayang in a special “Wushu Vs. Muay Thai Legends Fight” at ONE X, which broadcasts live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Saturday, 26 March.
The fight, which will take place under ONE Super Series Muay Thai rules, will serve as the 45-year-old Australian striker’s retirement bout and afford him the chance to earn his 100th career victory.
Meanwhile, Folayang will bring his brilliant wushu skills and veteran MMA savvy into his first contest in “the art of eight limbs.”
John Wayne Parr’s Extraordinary Career
John Wayne Parr has enjoyed an incredible career that’s spanned three decades.
“The Gunslinger” is a 10-time Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion who’s defeated several of the biggest names in the combat sports world, including Yodsanklai Fairtex, Lamsongkram Chuwattana, and Dzhabar Askerov.
He was also a leading star and the runner-up in the hit reality television show “The Contender Asia,” which aired in 2008.
Now, after achieving so many accolades throughout his decorated martial arts career, the Aussie has decided to hang up the gloves for good.
Eduard Folayang Looks To Spoil The Party
Filipino icon Eduard Folayang may not have John Wayne Parr’s vast competition experience in Muay Thai, but he’s a decorated striker in his own right and possesses an explosive stand-up arsenal that could shock “The Gunslinger” in Singapore.
“Landslide” has won 11 major medals in wushu competitions, including three golds at the SEA Games. Moreover, he’s used that incredible striking ability to become a three-time ONE Lightweight World Champion.
After spending his entire ONE Championship tenure competing exclusively in mixed martial arts, the 38-year-old Baguio City native will officially make his ONE Super Series Muay Thai debut at ONE X.
If he defeats Parr, Folayang might even be inspired to make a run toward becoming a two-sport ONE World Champion. (One Championship)
