The seventh week of the 2023 Professional Fighters League Challenger Series emanated from Universal Studios, in Orland, Florida and featured a four-fight card with eight fighters from the Light Heavyweight division.

At the conclusion of the evening, the all-star judging panel consisting of Tyron Woodley, Randy Couture and Tim Kennedy helped award the seventh contract of the 2023 Challenger Series to Impa Kasanganay. Kasanganay joins Featherweight, Brahyan Zurcher, Women’s Flyweight Desiree Yanez, Heavyweight Abraham Bably, Women’s Featherweight Amanda Leve and Welterweight Thad Jean, as PFL Challenger Series contract winners this year. The event was streamed exclusively on Fubo Sports, the live, free-to-consumer TV network from FuboTV Inc. (NYSE: FUBO), the leading sports-first live TV streaming platform.

In the main event of the night, Impa Kasanganay collided with Osama Elsaidy, the second fighter to represent Egypt under the PFL banner, making both his U.S. and PFL debut. Kasanganay scored the second knockout of his career, finishing Elsaidy off with a slick combination and some brutal ground and pound to earn the first-round knockout. With the win, Kasanganay earned Week 7’s PFL contract and improved to 11-3 in his career.

Taylor “Tombstone” Johnson, battled Trey Williams in the co-main event of the night. Williams came into the bout having won five of his six wins by finish. Taylor needed just a minute and 20 seconds to take care of business against Williams, winning by TKO in the opening round. Taylor improved to 9-3.

“I’m proud of all the fighters who competed tonight for the opportunity to earn a contract with the PFL,” said Ray Sefo, President of Fighter Operations of PFL. “Congratulations to Impa Kasanganay after an impressive victory, we look forward to watching you embark on the $1 million journey.”

Further action saw Tristan Overvig, take on Billy Elekana. Elekana’s light heavyweight debut proved to be successful, as he outstruck Overvig on his way to a unanimous decision victory, with all three judges scoring the fight 30-27. The win pushed Elekana’s record to 5-1.

Kicking off the Light Heavyweight card, Monte Morrison and Roland Dunlap matched up in a battle between two unbeaten fighters. Dunlap, a US Marine veteran, put on a well-rounded performance to dominate Morris and pick up the unanimous decision win, 29-27 across the board. Dunlap improved to 4-0 in his professional career.
