    4th Red Kings Year-Opener Chess Individual Tournament set Jan.28

    THE 4th Red Kings Year-Opener Chess Individual Tournament will get underway on January 28, 2018 at the Tiendesitas Mall, Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City.
    According to tournament organizer Fide Master "Elo" Mariano III, on his Facebook post, said participants will compete in the sevent-round Swiss System format tournament, rate of play twenty minutes plus three seconds time delay mode and to be sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines through En Passant Chess Association and backed up by Team Henry Go Jr., Sales Director Samivin V. Delos Santos of SM Development Corporation and Ortigas and Company.

    Participants may compete in the Open section and under-12 kiddies categories. Champion in the Open section will receive P5,000 plus a trophy while the second and third placers will go home with P3,000 and P2,000, plus trophies respectively.
    P1,000 each will likewise get for fourth to fifth placers, while P500 each for 6th to 10th placers.

    Special prizes also await the top College, top 2100, top 2000, top 14-years-old and below and top females of the event.
    Under-12 kiddies categories winner will receive P2,500 plus trophy. While second to third placers will went home P1,500, P1,000, respectively plus trophies.

    4th to 5th place will get P500 each plus medals. 6th to 10th placers will go home medals each.

    Top 9 years-old & below will receive P300 plus medal while top Female  will get P300 plus medal.

    Special award to Most number of participants/students of school represented.

    Tournament registration fee is P250 for kiddies 912-years-old & below) and Open is P350.

    All participants must present valid identification card (government issued ID, school ID) while in the kiddies division, students must present schoold ID and bring their birth certificate.
