    Manila, Philippines---Three-year-old Magnus Carlsen Sidaya-Roma, currently holds the distinction being youngest player in the world is pursuing youngest Grandmaster in the planet.

    His proud parents Alvin and Jolibee Sidaya-Roma from Rodriguez, Rizal are very confident it will happen in the future.

    Both Alvin and Jolibee Sidaya-Roma are former top varsity player of the National University (NU) in Bustillos, Sampaloc, Manila. 

    Their main goals getting the coveted youngest Grandmaster title at the age of seven.

    Part of the training is the intense 20 minutes chess lesson a day for the three year old Filipino chess child prodigy that includes solving chess problem as well reviewing the games of the chess masters.

    His latest feat playing against ten older players from San Jose National High School last September in a rare chess simultaneous exhibition.

    Magnus Carlsen Sidaya-Roma named after Norwegian chess grandmaster and the current World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen, learned chess at the age of one and five months. 

    Sergey Alexandrovich Karjakin of Ukraine holds the record for the world's youngest grandmaster, having qualified for this title at the age of 12 years and 7 months.

    On Saturday, November 4, 2017, three-year-old Magnus Carlsen Sidaya-Roma will seeing in action against older counterpart when the Barangay San Martin De Porres Chess Festival dubbed as sportsman Melecio C. Advincula III Chess Cup gets underway at the Barangay San Martin De Porres, Barangay Hall, Cubao, Quezon City.

    Melecio C. Advincula III , a well known supporter of the youth said, the one day chess event coincide the celebration of feast of Barangay San Martin De Porres which aims to provide an avenue for aspiring athletes to improve and develop their skills and talents. The format of the said event is Six to Seven Round Swiss System, Depending to the number of participants.-Marlon Bernardino-
