As fight fans have read by now, Dillian Whyte will return to the ring on December 7, facing the towering Mariusz Wach on the huge Ruiz-Joshua II card in Saudi Arabia. Attempting to put the frustrations of his time spent out of the ring, and the well-documented fall-out that followed his July win over Oscar Rivas (Whyte failing a UK Anti-Doping, or UKAD test in the build-up to the July fight), the Londoner says he is looking to “crack another skull and get closer to fighting for a world title.”

It’s the biggest rematch the heavyweight division has to offer, bigger (in the opinion of some, this writer included) than the Andy Ruiz-Anthony Joshua return. It’s Deontay Wilder-Tyson Fury II and it’s done for February 22. This is according to both Bob Arum and Shelly Finkel, who spoke with ESPN.com. The only thing that remains to be sorted out is the venue for the fight.

Rene “Gemelo” Alvarado (32-8, 20 KOs) of Managua, Nicaragua successfully defeated Andrew “El Chango” Cancio (21-5-2, 16 KOs) of Blythe, California via knockout at the end of the seventh round of a 12-round rematch for the WBA Super Featherweight World Title. The fight was stopped after the referee deemed Cancio’s cut to be too severe to continue. The event took place on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019 at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, Calif. and was streamed live DAZN.

HAIKOU, China (Nov. 21, 2019) — WBC/WBO junior welterweight world champion Jose Ramirez, the pride of California’s Central Valley, will cross an ocean to defend his belts. Ramirez will face former WBC world champion Viktor “The Iceman” Postol Saturday, Feb. 1 at Mission Hills Haikou in Haikou, Hainan, China.

Nov. 20, 2019) — WBO No. 1 140-pound contender Jack Catterall and Indian super middleweight contender Vijender Singh will co-headline a special edition of #MTKFightNight Friday from Caesars Palace Bluewaters Dubai.

Catterall will face Timo Schwarzkopf, while Singh will fight Ghanaian veteran Charles “The Crusader” Adamu in 10-round bouts.

Catterall-Schwarzkopf and Singh-Adamu will stream live on ESPN+, the leading multisport streaming service, beginning at 10:30 a.m. ET/7:30 a.m. PT.

This one is personal. Jesse “Hollywood” Hart, born and bred in Philadelphia, will take on Joe Smith Jr. Saturday, Jan. 11 from Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena in the 10-round main event, which will kick off the 2020 Top Rank on ESPN schedule.

It was Smith, the union construction worker from Long Island, who knocked Philadelphia legend Bernard Hopkins through the ropes and into retirement in December 2016. For Hart, who considers Hopkins a mentor, this fight is more than a step towards a world title shot.
