LOS ANGELES (Aug. 7, 2019) — Undefeated super lightweight contender Arnold Barboza Jr., South African welterweight contender Chris van Heerden and unbeaten middleweight prodigy Janibek Alimkhanuly will all see action in scheduled 10-rounders Saturday, Aug. 17 at Banc of California Stadium on the undercard of WBO junior featherweight world champion Emanuel Navarrete’s title defense versus Francisco “Panchito” De Vaca.

Saudi Arabia is now in play for the Anthony Joshua vs. Andy Ruiz Jr. rematch, as well as UAE and Qatar.  Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing is literally bending over backwards in an effort to accommodate Ruiz Jr. (33-1, 22 KOs) to make him happy in fighting a neutral venue for the rematch.

Conlan stops Diego Alberto Ruiz in 9 in front of sold-out Falls Park crowd

BELFAST (Aug. 3, 2019) —The sold-out crowd of around 10,000 at Falls Park came to see Michael Conlan put on a memorable show. Conlan, Belfast's featherweight fistic superhero, stepped on the gas late and knocked out veteran Diego Alberto Ruiz in the ninth round of a scheduled 10-rounder Saturday evening under the lights. 

With the win, Conlan (12-0, 7 KOs), who is ranked in the top 10 by two of the major sanctioning organizations, moved closer to a world title shot.
 
It was the second hometown bout of Conlan’s professional career, but this one was a particularly special occasion. The fight card was one of the premier events of the annual Féile an Phobail summer festival in West Belfast.
 
Ruiz (21-3, 10 KOs) attempted to move forward, but he was thwarted by the movement of Conlan, who alternated from orthodox to southpaw at times throughout the fight. Just as it appeared Ruiz was destined to go the distance, Conlan turned up the heat, knocked him down, and then forced a corner stoppage.

In the wake of Manny Pacquiao’s thrilling title victory over Keith Thurman, Errol Spence is very eager to step inside the ring with the boxing legend. Spence has a very big welterweight championship unification fight coming up on September 28 with fellow champion Shawn Porter.

Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis says he’s ready to face Vasiliy Lomachenko now, and he wants that fight sometime in 2020. The unbeaten WBA Super World super featherweight champion Davis (22-0, 21 KOs) believes he now has more than enough boxing skills, and experience to fight WBA/WBO lightweight champion Lomachenko (13-1, 10 KOs).

Heavyweight contender Adam Kownacki (20-0, 15 KOs) defeated Chris ‘The Nightmare’ Arreola (38-6-1, 33 KOs) by a 12 round unanimous decision on Saturday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, in New York. The fight was shown on Premier Boxing Champions and Fox.

Saul Canelo Avarez is an unhappy camper a day after being stripped of his IBF middleweight title by the International Boxing Federation after his promoters at Golden Boy Promotions were unable to hammer out a deal with his IBF mandatory challenger Sergiy Derevyanchenko on Thursday.
