Eric "Billiard Cop" Bayhon, the 2017 Los Angeles, California World Police and Fire Games 5th placer, suffered a defeat in the on-going 2019 J&P Navigator Japan 9-Ball Cup Championships being held at the AMF-Puyat Bowling and Billiards Center, Superbowl, 3rd Level, Makati Cinema Square, Pasong Tamo in Makati City on Saturday, May 4, 2019.

The 37-year-old Bayhon, a Police Staff Sgt.from Police Security and Protection Group playing under the baton of PBGen. Filmore Escobal, who beat Jong Hwan Kang of Korea, 5-2, in the opening round, lost to lady cue artist Leslie Gaite, 5-4.

The Ateneo de Zamboanga University BS Management graduate student Bayhon took a 2-0 to 4-3 lead before Gaite won two consecutive racks to escape a 5-4 decision win in this P108,000 total pot prize event, sanctioned by the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) and backed up by Puyat Sports, Wilde Blu Chalk, Volturi Custom Cases PH, Chili Juan, Makati Pool Players Association (MAPPA) led by it's president Arvin Arceo and world renowned blogger Leslie "Anito Kid" Mapugay which attracted 213 pool players.

DMC Entertainment and Production management boss Jesse "Kuye Jesse" Gonzales Cambosa Sr., meantime, scored a tough , 5-3, victory over Xris Angeles.

Also impressive were Mercy Worldwide Director Ronnie Gonzalez of Metro Manila International Christian Church (MMICC) and call center employee Trexie Alix.

Gonzalez toppled Jazz Billones, 5-2, while Alix subdued, Mia Domingo 5-3.

According to tournament official Allan Soliman, the 2019 J&P Navigator Japan 9-Ball Cup Championships will resume on May 10 at the same venue.-Marlon Bernardino-
