The reigning MVP reigned supreme once again as the Warriors shut the Bucks down early.

The Warriors came back from an early deficit to thrash the Bucks, 117-92.

The story of the night was the triumphant return of MVP Stephen Curry. Despite struggling over the last several games, we knew it couldn’t last and tonight proved it as Curry shot for 69% on the night (nice). Curry shot 6-of-8 from downtown, a couple from the logo, to rack up 28 points.

Draymond Green had a solid night as well, nearing a triple-double with eight points, eight rebounds and 10 assists. Meanwhile, Klay Thompson had 21 points, Andre Iguodala had a strong night with 15 points off the bench, Matt Barnes had nine rebounds and three assists (including a touchdown pass to a solo Green for the dunk), and JaVale McGee briefly became the savior of Dub Nation in the first quarter on his way to eight points in just under 12 minutes.

Milwaukee came out strong with smothering defense to limit the Warriors to single digit scoring for the first half of the quarter, while building a quick ten point lead. However, with just under four minutes remaining, the Warriors went on a 13-2 tear to bring it within two to close out the first.

Klay Thompson caught fire to start the second quarter to take the lead, before Matt Barnes knocked down a pair of back-to-back triples and free throws to help build a lead the Bucks would never be able to chip away at. After a strong start, someone pulled the batteries out of Milwaukee’s defense as they allowed the Warriors to shoot at 60% on the night.

One of the more interesting developments of the night was Oracle Arena’s intense hatred of Matthew “Steph-Stopper” Dellavedova. Every single time he had the ball, or even sneezed, he was the subject of some of the loudest jeering I’ve ever heard at Oracle and that is saying something. But it ultimately seemed a bit unwarranted, considering he was practically a non-entity on the court tonight with only five points and some poorly thought-out fouls.

Also worth noting was that the Warriors, mainly Green, limited Giannis Antetokounmpo (who is averaging 23 points per game this season) to a measly nine points in 30 minutes.

With the Spurs losing to Memphis earlier today, the Warriors have now regained a 2.5 game conference lead as they move on to face the Thunder in Oklahoma City on Monday. Kevin Durant is said to be making the trip for this one and it should be interesting to see how both teams do against each other without him, as he tends to be the difference maker.
