It certainly wasn’t pretty, and it rarely is in battles of former colleague coaches, but the Milwaukee Bucks ultimately prevailed over a hot-shooting Memphis Grizzlies team, 127-114. Milwaukee came out looking a little sluggish from the tip, but still controlled the first period and took a 35-29 advantage into the second. The Bucks were in danger of heading into halftime trailing, but a Lillard-level deep triple from George Hill made it 64-62 Milwaukee. It took an unconscious shooting period from Memphis for them to take a 95-90 lead after three. The Grizzlies shouldn’t have made Giannis quite so upset while he was on the bench for much of the third though, for he returned and put the game well out of reach.

Joel Embiid said Tuesday night that he hasn't been having fun this season. It looked like he was having a blast at TD Garden Thursday.

In what was easily Embiid's finest game of the season, the Sixers ramped up their defense in the second half to beat the Celtics, 115-109.

Al Horford did not play against his former team as he's dealing with left knee soreness and left hamstring tightness.

The Spurs got another wild win in overtime, this time against the Kings, for their first set of consecutive wins since October, but it wasn’t pretty. After a building a double-digit halftime lead, the inconsistent Spurs once again made an appearance, getting behind by as much as nine and withstanding a super streaky fourth quarter to win 105-104 in overtime. A win is a win, no matter how ugly.

Golden State’s enforcer pulled no punches in his assessment of a deflating home loss.

The theme from last night’s postgame press conference was that the Golden State Warriors were especially disappointed they couldn’t knock off the Memphis Grizzlies at Chase Center. Perhaps that’s because they had already put a beating on the Grizz earlier this season in Tennessee, or because the Warriors finally had enough healthy bodies to resemble a legit NBA team.

Disgraced Tim Donaghy has made media rounds since he was caught in a gambling scandal back in 2007, and he has spilled the dirt on the NBA’s officiating ever since. While some believe that many of Donaghy’s stories are sensationalized and made up to take the attention off of him, they are, nonetheless, fascinating looks at how an NBA referee, albeit a disgraced one, may think about the game.

The Lakers are raving about how close this team is, and while winning surely helps that, the chemistry they mention has also led to sacrifices that have made so much winning more possible.

Perhaps we should have known that a run like this was coming from the Los Angeles Lakers. They may have only just yesterday finished up what was supposed to be a tough road trip undefeated, but they’ve been speaking the language of true title contenders all season, even if they weren’t actually playing against many other teams with realistic postseason aspirations until just now.

14 games. That’s how many games the Milwaukee Bucks have now won in a row, as the Los Angeles Clippers couldn’t find a way to stop the Deer.

It’d be an ugly start for both teams in this one (Milwaukee would go 0-for-6 from deep to begin), but eventually, a pair of Pat Connaughton threes would rev up the Bucks and the crowd. The Bench Mob would do their job and help grant Milwaukee a 15 point lead after the end of one, 30-15.

Coming into his third season as a Laker and fresh off being the one young player kept around in the trade that saw Anthony Davis come to Los Angeles, Kyle Kuzma had visions of being a star. He told ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk that after putting in a summer of work, he expected to continue to develop into a player that was capable of “being that superstar” that could play next to LeBron James and Davis.
