ESPN Sources: Cleveland Cavaliers forward Tristan Thompson expected to sit next two exhibitions with sore left foot. Precautionary measure.

9:43 PM - 7 Oct 2016"

Sore feet in a player who is listed at 6’9” isn’t ideal. But maybe it’s just from an active summer and he just needs a bit of rest to get right. If it’s really just a precautionary measure and not indicative of something bigger, then this will be just a blip in Thompson’s season.

If the sore foot means there is a larger issue here, then it also puts Thompson’s consecutive games played streak at risk. Currently, he’s the league’s all-time leader in consecutive games played. And if the issue is at all serious, losing Thompson would be problematic to say the least. He’s their starting center, their best rebounder and a key piece to a team that has title aspirations.
