Scott is scoring double figures AND making 69 percent of his shots in the first round against the Raptors.

Last Sunday, Trey Flynn wrote that the Wizards’ (or Raptors’ bench will decide the series outcome as opposed to the starters. For the Wizards, forwardMike Scott has proven to be one of the Wizards’ go-to option off the bench.

So far, Scott is averaging 12.5 points and 3 rebounds a game while shooting 69 percent from the field. These are absurdly good numbers for a player who shot 47.6 percent from the field and shot a career high 52.7 percent from the field in the regular season.

In Game 2, Scott scored 20 points of the bench, shooting 7 of 10 from the field and made four of five three point attempts. You can see the video above.

I know. Game 2 was a bad loss for Washington, but Scott has proven to be a sniper, ready at a moment’s notice from the three point line. He’s ready whenever a guard drives down the lane or even after an offensive rebound.

The Wizards have been a destination team for many free agent wing and per players over the years. Mike Scott is another addition to that list. I hope Scott will stay next season because he is a free agent this summer. But for now, I’m just happy that Scott is firing on all cylinders at the right time of year.
