Is Lou Williams the greatest Clipper ever?

Heading into Wednesday, the Clippers hadnโ€™t beaten the Warriors since Christmas 2014, losing 12 straight to Golden State. While the Warriors were without Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson Wednesday, Kevin Durant was back to join the full complement of complimentary players. The Clippers, meanwhile, were without Blake Griffin and basically every other player whose name a normal person would recognize other than DeAndre Jordan and Lou Williams.
Thatโ€™s all they needed.

Williams, arguably the greatest L.A. Clipper ever (at least in the conversation with Baron Davis and Quentin Richardson) dropped 50 in Golden State as L.A. won 125-106. That 50-piece included 27 in the third quarter, where the Clips turned a four-point halftime deficit into a seven-point lead going into the fourth. Williams out shined Durant, who dropped 40 en route to becoming the second fastest player to score 20,000 points (trailing LeBron James by more than a calendar year, albeit having been forced to serve a year in college basketball).

Amid the 50-spot, Shams Charania reported Williams and the Clippers have been talking about a contract extension, which can be agreed upon during this season. Go max, dear Clippers. Go max.
