Isaiah Thomas is set to make his Cavaliers debut Tuesday night, after recovering from a hip injury. He will not play in the Cavs game the following night though, against the team that traded him, in Boston.

That’s why he’s requested the team not play his tribute video, according to the Boston Herald’s Mark Murphy. On Twitter, Thomas explained that he wanted his family at the arena when the video plays.

If the video tribute is played then, it’ll be a busy night at TD Garden. That’s the same night the Celtics are scheduled to retire Paul Pierce’s jersey.

Though Thomas won’t play in Boston Wednesday night, all eyes will be on the fans and coaching staff to see their interactions with a still emotional Thomas if he makes the trip. He’s made no secret of his animosity towards the organization he pushed deep into the playoffs, days after losing his sister.

No matter when this tribute video is played, it won’t fix how heartbroken Thomas was after he was dealt.
