Philadelphia 76ers’ No. 1 overall pick Markelle Fultz exited the team’s Summer League matchup against the Warriors on Saturday with a sprained left ankle, according to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne. He will not return for tonight’s game.

Fultz attempted to chase down Warriors’ guard Jabari Brown for a block in the third quarter but stepped on the back of Brown’s foot, then landed on his left ankle. He could not put any weight on his left ankle and was helped to the locker room.

Second-year 76ers wing Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot was also injured on the play after he ate an elbow on the play and bled from his nose.

The injury bug continues to follow the 76ers, who have not enjoyed rookie seasons from any of their recent draft picks. Ben Simmons missed his entire rookie year with a foot injury last season. Joel Embiid missed his first two seasons also with a foot injury, and Nerlens Noel was drafted in 2013 but missed his rookie season due to injury as well.
