DILIMAN Preparatory School completed a triple celebration by sweeping all its matches in the 2017 Youth Basketball Cup at the DPS gym in Commonwealth Ave., Diliman, Quezon City over the weekend.
DPS rode on the heroic sof Junnie Goyo to roll back Notre Dame, 81-73, for its second straight win in the boys 17 years old and under category.
Goyo mocked all defenders to score a game-high 32 points for DPS. He also had five rebounds and three steals.
Raven Bajar exploded with 30 points as DPS edged King’s Montessori, 100-99, for ts first win in the boys 15 and under class.
Melvin Zablan finished with 22 points, five assists and three steals to power DPS to an 83-78 win over King’s in the boys 13 years old and under division.
It was the third straight win for DPS in the 13-under.
Earlier, Ateneo de Manila outclassed UAAP rival Adamson, 69-48, for its first win in three matches in the boys 17 under last Feb. 11.
Amcus Araza scattered 14 points and hauled down five rebounds to lead the Eaglets to victory over the Baby Falcons.
Sacred Heart Academy of Novaliches whipped DPS, 97-82, behind Francisco Clarino’s 34 points, eight rebounds and three assists in the boys 15-under; Claret outsteadied Notre Dame, 80-75, behind Elijah Bitancor’s 20 points and EDSCI humbled SHAN, 94-38, behind Jhon Austria’s 20 points in the boys 13-under.
