STAR Hotshots Allein Maliksi  has overthrow Ginkings favorite L.A Tenorio  and dethroned GlobalPort's Terrence Romeo as the PBA  All-Star 3-point contest champion.

“I’m thankful to God for opportunities like this in this point of my career, but I know I needed to turn it up to make it to the final 12.

Maliksi is regarded as one of Gilas’ new designated gunners together with guards Terrence Romeo, forward Troy Rosario, and rookies Matthew Wright and Roger Pogoy.

Other players who joined the shootout include Alaska’s Simon Enciso, Mahindra’s Gary David, NLEX’s Juami Tiongson, Meralco’s Jared Dillinger, TNT’s Larry Fonacier, Blackwater’s Ronjay Buenafe, and SMB’s Marcio Lassiter.

But only Maliksi, Tenorio and Romeo made the cut for the final round.

San Miguel Beer sent guard RR Garcia to TNT in exchange for forward Matt Ganuelas-Rosser on Monday.

Garcia, who will be joining his third team in only the last three conferences, is expected to be a solid backup to Jayson Castro.
