Valentina Shevchenko: Amanda Nunes is definitely scared to fight me again

After securing the biggest win of her mixed martial arts (MMA) career by taking out Holly Holm in the main event of UFC on FOX 20 in Chicago Illinois (highlights), Valentina Shevchenko wants her ticket to the big dance.

And it will kill two birds with one stone for "Bullet," as not only will she be getting her first-ever MMA world title fight, but a rematch against Amanda Nunes, the last women to defeat here.

But according to Valentina, getting the fight will be hard, as she seems to think the new champion isn't keen on fighter her again, declaring during the post-fight presser that she's flat-out scared.

"She's definitely scared. I'm ready to go five rounds, for sure. I will take whoever I need to fight next, but I think she's definitely scared."

She continues:

"This is what I want, and what I want so much. This fight with Amanda that I had before, she won not because she was stronger than me. I think I gave her an opportunity to win this fight, and next time, I know I will do much better, and I know that for anybody else, I will not give one opportunity for the victory."

Nunes initially defeated Shevchenko via unanimous decision at UFC 196, the same night Miesha Tate dethroned Holly Holm as  Bantamweight champion. Fast forward four months, and it's Amanda who is sitting at the top with "Bullet" not far behind.

As for her callout, well, Nunes isn't too impressed; as she feels Shevchenko and Julianna Pena should go at it in a No. 1 contender bout to see who the rightful owner of the title shot is.

Which is actually not a bad idea.
