Japan target ang Covid-19, vaccine trials sa Hulyo

Target Japan na masimulan na ang  clinical trials para sa vaccine ng  coronavirus disease (Covid-19) sa July, ayon sa  prime minister nitong Lunes. 
 
Inatupag ng  budget committee sa parliyamento,  inilahad ni Shinzo Abe na ang pagsasagawa ng vaccines ay dinadala na lpsa maraming  institutions, kabilang ang University of Tokyo, Osaka University, at ang National Institute of Infectious Diseases.
 
Ang vaccine trials na sinimulan na sa labas ng bansa, sinabi ni Abe: “I hope vaccination programs can get underway at the earliest possible date by gathering the world's wisdom,” iniulat ng Japan’s public broadcaster NHK.
 
Nasa ilalim ng  state emergency ang Japan mula pa noong nakalipas na buwan para mapalakas ang paglaban kontra  deadly infection.
 
Idinagdag pa ni Abe na ang kanyang gobyerno ay naglalayong aprubahan ang anti-flu drug na Avigan para gamot sa  Covid-19 sa katapusan nitong buwan. 
 
Sa kaagahan ng Marso, nakatanggap ng papuri ang Avigan mula China National Center for Biotechnology Development na anila'y ang droga na  gawa ng Japan's Fujifilm Holdings ay "effective against Covid-19" na nagpalakas ng shares ng kompanya ng higit 15 percent sa naturang araw.
 
Nakaraang linggo, inaprubahan  ng  Abe government ang isa pang anti-viral drug — remdesivir, orihinal na na-developed bilang possible treatment para sa Ebola — para gamitin laban sa  deadly coronavirus, na naging unang opisyal na gamot ng bansa bilang gamot sa coronavirus.
