MANILA –Tigil pasada muna ang Metro Rail Transit Line (MRT-3) na sinimulan Martes, dahil sasailalim ang lahat ng kanilang trabahante sa testing para da coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Sa ipinalabas na pahayag, sinabi ng pamunuan ng MRT-3 na nagdesisyon ang Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) na ipatigil ang operasyon dahil sa pagdami ng bilang ng personnel ang nagpositibo sa virus.

“The temporary shutdown will be undertaken to give way to RT-PCR (swab) testing of all MRT-3 personnel, including those of its maintenance provider and subcontractors,” saad ng MRT-3.

Tatagal ang tigil biyahe ng limang araw hanggang Sabado Hulyo 11 hanggang ang swab tests ay kumpirmadong sapat na ang bilang ng mga worker ay hindi nahawaan ng naturang sakit.

“The period of the shutdown may be shortened or extended, depending on the pace and results of RT-PCR testing. This also means that operations will resume even if the number of available personnel can only operate a limited number of train sets at the beginning,” pahayag pa ng MRT-3.

Sa 3,200 personnel, sinabi ng MRT-3 na kinakailangan ang hindi bababa sa 1,300 workers ang kailangang maipagpatuloy limitadong operasyon.

“Those who are confirmed negative will form part of the pool that will operate the system upon resumption of operations,” ani pa ng MRT-3.(LP/PNA)
