PSC OIC Fernandez, Petecio, Magno atbp nagpa-COVID-19 swab tests

Pinangunahan ni Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Commissioner at bagong talagang Officer-In-Charge Ramon Fernandez ang magpa-swab testing sa Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19), Huwebes sa PhilSports Complex sa Pasig City.

Si Fernandez ay sinamahan ng kanyang misis na si Karla Kintanar-Fernandez at inaasahang makukumpleto ang 14-day quarantine habang ginagampanan ang kanyang trabaho bilang OIC ng komisyon sa July 17.

“We will comply with the standard procedures to ensure that we are helping in curbing the spread of the virus,” ani PSC OIC Fernandez.

Bukod kay Fernandez, ang national boxers buhat Baguio City kasama sina 2021 Tokyo Olympic qualifier Irish Magno at 2019 AIBA Women’s World Champion Nesthy Petecio na may sampung iba pang fighters, 6 male at 4 female, at 1 coach ang dumaan din sa swab testing.

Ang mga atletang nakatira sa Philsports mula boxing at fencing, at para-athletes sa athletics, wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, table tennis, at chess ay sumailalim din sa swab tests.

Ang naturang mga boxer mula Baguio City ay susunod sa 14-day quarantine at oobserbahan hanggang maipalabas ang resulta ng test. Hahatagan sila ng pagkain, shelter, at kinakailangang ayuda mula sa PSC staff.

“Hindi muna sila pinalalabas ng assigned rooms nila. Until lumabas swab test results nila, hinahatiran sila ng food,” banggit ni Philsports Dormitory manager Roselle Destura.

“Kung may ipapabili, ipapawithdraw, at ipapadala sa pamilya, pinapaiwan namin sila ng note sa harap ng room nila and then kami na gagawa for them,” aniya pa.

Inaasistehan din ng PSC ang mga athletes na makakuha ng kanilang mga travel pass pabalik sa kanilang mga probinsiya kapag inilabas na ang kanilang resulta at klaro na sa banta ng virus at kapag mayroon nang masasakyang biyahe. (LP/PSC)
