Pinusuan ni Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman William Ramirez ang ilang pupuwedeng sports sa ilalim ng general community quarantine (GCQ).
Pinayagan ang ilang noncontact sports para masustena ang pagiging malusog at masiglang komunidad sa kabila ng pandemya.
Ani Ramirez ang mga noncontact sports o anumang panlabas na aktibidad ay 'di kabilang sa GCQ at enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) guidelines na ipinapatupad ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).
"This is what we called outdoor activities, and this isn’t part of the guidelines of ECQ and GCQ,” sabi ni Ramirez sa panayam ng Radyo Singko’s “Power and Play with Noli Eala” Sabado ng umaga.
Gayunman, pinaalalahanan ng Chairman ang mga otaw sa kahalagahan ng kalusugan at malakas na pangangatawan.
“But, fundamentally, in the Philippine Constitution, it is a state policy to create a healthy, vibrant community because individual health and fitness is an integral, fundamental part of a community to develop a strong country,” aniya.
Tinukoy ni Ramirez ang sports gaya ng athletics, table tennis singles, frisbee, volleyball singles, golf, sailing, taekwondo forms, golf, skateboarding, tai chi, kung fu, running, horseback riding, hiking, baseball and no-tag softball ay puwedeng laruin sa ilalim ng GCQ bilang klase ng ehersisyo.
“I will verbalize this one during our interview. This is not all about sports competition or championships. But these are outdoor activities,” wika pa ni Ramirez. (Louis Pangilinan)
